The Applied Economics Program Director oversees the curriculum, students, and faculty and must be an entrepreneurial and visionary leader who can embrace the latest technology, science, and policy trends in the field and deliver that experience to students.
The Applied Economics Program Director position leads in providing innovative leadership for curriculum design, assessment, and new course and program development to ensure the growth and delivery of quality programs, the Center Director has a significant supervisory role and is responsible for managing full- and part-time non-tenure line faculty and adjunct faculty each semester.
The Program Director is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 12-month renewable faculty position with the academic title of Senior Lecturer. The Program Director reports to the Program Chair for Applied Economics and to the Associate Dean for Graduate and Professional Programs, who leads the Advanced Academic Programs and reports to the Dean of the Krieger School, and consults with the Program Chair on academic matters.
