SSA’s Office of Research, Evaluation, and Statistics (ORES) is hiring for Economists in the Baltimore, MD and Washington DC areas, ranging from grades 9 (starting salary $64,957) to 14 (starting salary of $132,368). ORES is a principal statistical unit of the federal government and is responsible for developing, conducting, and producing policy relevant research and statistical data regarding the Social Security retirement and disability programs and the Supplement Security Income program.

• Social and economic aspects of earnings and benefits
• Data produced by major statistical systems and surveys
• Effects of policies on income, work, or economic well-being
