Website The Roosevelt Institute

The Roosevelt Institute seeks a Director of Worker Power and Economic Security to lead its labor market and worker organizing research. Reporting to the Principal Economist, the Director will shape internal strategy, conduct original research, manage contributors, and represent the Institute externally—with media, funders, policymakers, and advocacy partners.
The Director will split time between personal research (40%), managing fellows and contractors (30%), promotion (20%), and administration (10%). Key responsibilities include developing a policy agenda on labor and economic security, producing reports and public-facing content, building partnerships, and collaborating across teams on program strategy and fundraising.

This role requires a deep understanding of labor policy and economics, with 8–10 years of experience developing strategies and managing research. Candidates should demonstrate strong writing, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. An advanced degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.

While remote work is supported, proximity to New York City or Washington, DC, is preferred. Salary ranges from $155,000–$170,000 with benefits.

Priority application deadline: June 20, 2025.
