The Wilbur H. Smith III Department of Real Estate Development & Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Analysis in the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy are seeking applicants for a faculty non-tenure track teaching position of design, at the rank of associate or assistant professor (teaching). Candidates should be experienced professionals with expertise in architectural design for real estate development. The successful candidate will teach 6 courses (24-units) at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in architectural design with content focused on fundamental design skills; building typologies; and community design and site planning for various real estate product types.
The successful candidate must have significant professional experience in architecture, community design, urban planning, and/or real estate development on an array of commercial real estate projects. Preference for candidates who hold an advanced degree (Master of Architecture, Master of Planning, or MRED). Candidates without a graduate degree may be considered if they have a minimum of 15 years professional experience and have held a leadership role at a design or development firm engaged in institutional quality projects. Preference given to candidates with prior teaching experience and excellent teaching evaluations.
