The Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin (“LBJ School”) is seeking an outstanding scholar with expertise in healthcare finance, public finance, or child and family policy to join our diverse community of faculty, students, and staff. We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics to begin in Fall of academic year 2023-24 (with an August 2023 start date). The LBJ School comprises more than 40 faculty members and approximately 300 graduate students, and offers multi-disciplinary curricula leading to the degrees of Master of Public Affairs, Master of Global Policy Studies, and Ph.D. in Public Policy.
The appointee will teach courses in at least one of the focal subfields as well as microeconomics and statistics courses to Masters and Doctoral students in Public Affairs. The appointee’s research in at least one of the focal subfields will have direct relevance to public policy.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Economics or a related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered if the doctoral degree will be complete by the time of employment. Experience in teaching (as instructor of record or teaching assistant) and evidence of scholarship or scholarly potential is required.
