The Department of Economics at Western Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Applied Microeconomics. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate level and the potential to publish in leading journals. Candidates should have experience in–or the potential for–building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment in teaching, mentoring, research, life experiences, or service.
Teaching responsibilities are expected to include intermediate microeconomics and health economics at the undergraduate level, and microeconomics at the graduate level. The hire is expected to maintain an active research program, work with students on undergraduate and graduate research projects, and contribute to department and university service.
The position requires a Ph.D. or completion within one year of appointment. The normal teaching load is two courses per semester based on research performance.
