Patrick L. Mason

Patrick L. Mason is a professor of economics and director of the African American Studies Program at Florida State University. His areas of interest include racial inequality in the United States, the Caribbean, and Mexico, educational achievement, income distribution, unemployment, the economics of identity (race and religion), family environment and socioeconomic well-being, transitions in family structure and public policy, racial profiling, computerization and employment, and innovation and development in Caribbean economies. Professor Mason is also chair of the board of directors of Partners for Dignity & Rights (PDR) and is a member of the board of directors of the Fair Foods Standards Council (FFSC). He has authored nearly one hundred professional publications.
